Dutch Oven Campfire Recipes

Camp cooking doesn't have to be hard to taste good.
These are some recipes we've tried, and some of us at least, have liked.
Some may be more difficult than others, but none of them require you to be a "World Class Chef".

Foil Dinners What list of Campfire Recipes would be complete without a Foil Dinner?  This is just the basic "how-to-do-it".   If anyone has any creative food combinations they really like, let me know and I'll add them to this page.
Ingredients: 1 Large Cabbage or Lettuce Leaf (not necessarily for eating)
Seasoning
Almost any meat: hamburger, beef, ham, shrimp, chicken, fish, pork, etc.
Almost any vegetables: potatoes, carrots, peas, beans, celery, corn, broccoli, etc.
Even some fruits: apples, pears, pineapple, raisins, etc.
Liquid: water or fruit juice
Basically, anything that can be baked.
Instructions: Take a piece of heavy duty foil, or two layers of regular foil laid out flat on table.  Place one large cabbage leaf in center.   This is for heat insulation, you may eat it or not when cooked.  If you don't like cabbage, you may substitute any large-leafed lettuce.  Place other ingredients on top of cabbage leaf.  Add other ingredients.  Get creative.  Vegetarian is good too.  Fold foil over the top bringing the edges together to form a tube, then roll the edges together to form a tight seal.  Roll one of the open ends closed, again forming a tight seal.  Pour about 1/2 - 1 cup of liquid into the last open end.  Roll that end closed so the entire dinner is tightly sealed inside the foil.  Place the foil packet on coals of fire for 10-30 minutes, depending on fire and what you have in the dinner.  Make sure all meat is properly cooked.  Remove from fire, open and enjoy.
