RELIGIOUS AWARDS ( ANYONE ) |
![]() |
| OFFERED BY: | P. R. A. Y. (for Medal and Patch) | B.S.A. (for Knot Award) |
| DESCRIPTION: Programs of Religious Activities with Youth (P.R.A.Y.) is a not-for-profit organization whose national board of directors includes representatives from Protestant and Independent Christian Churches, Boy Scouts of America, Girl Scouts of the U.S.A., and Camp Fire USA. P.R.A.Y.'s mission statement is to "foster the Christian growth of children, youth, and families through churches and youth serving agencies." While P.R.A.Y. is a Christian organization, it collaborates with many different faiths (Christian, Jewish, Islamic, Buddist and others) to provide religious programs for youth. This award is earned independently by the Scout, working with a religious leader through his church (or similar). The Workbooks for the Scouts, and the Guidebooks for the religious leader are available through the Scout Stores, or directly from P.R.A.Y. Adults may also earn awards from P.R.A.Y. for mentoring and assisting youth with the P.R.A.Y. program. See the "More Information" link for details. The Medal and Patch shown are representative of what's available. Your actual award may look different, depending upon your faith. The Religious Square Knot Award is the only award that a Scout can earn that can be worn on his Cub Scout Uniform, on his Boy Scout Uniform, and on his Leader Uniform. |
